Prepare the SVG artwork
Use closed vector shapes with clear fills. Remove hidden objects, duplicate paths, unsupported effects, linked images, and stray geometry. Convert text to paths when you need the letter shapes to remain exact on another computer.
Convert the design
- Open the SVG without changing the original file.
- Review the detected colors and parts.
- Set the finished width, height, and thickness.
- Assign planned colors and vertical placement where needed.
- Inspect both the artwork view and the solid 3D geometry.
- Export the multipart 3MF to a new output file.
Review in your slicer
Open the 3MF in the slicer you use for your printer. Confirm part alignment, orientation, final dimensions, assigned materials, layer preview, supports, and every printer-specific setting before printing.
What the converter does not decide
The converter does not choose a printer profile, filament temperature, speed, layer height, supports, or other print settings. Not every SVG feature maps cleanly to printable geometry. Gradients, clipping masks, strokes, filters, linked images, open paths, self-intersections, and unusually complex artwork may require cleanup.
Common conversion problems
Why is part of my artwork missing?
Check for open paths, strokes that were not converted to outlines, clipping masks, filters, linked images, or shapes with no fill.
Why does the model look different in my slicer?
Confirm that the slicer imported all parts and preserved their placement. Then check scale, orientation, material assignments, and layer preview.
Will the converter modify my SVG?
The workflow is designed to read the source and create a separate 3MF output. Keep your original SVG as the editable master.
