Safety features

Keep previous versions with Time Vault.

Time Vault can retain replaced versions so a current backup is not your only available copy of a changed file.

1

Enable Time Vault for the routine

Turn it on when creating or editing a backup.

2

Choose the retention count

The routine keeps up to the configured number of previous versions as newer replacements arrive.

3

Run normal backups

Time Vault works during a run when an existing destination file is about to be replaced.

4

Review storage use

Previous versions use destination space, so review storage and retention as the backup grows.

5

Restore the version you need

Use the available version information to recover an earlier copy when the current copy is not the right one.
