Drives and storage

Choose and manage a backup destination.

Backup O’Clock identifies the registered drive and keeps each routine tied to its intended destination.

1

Choose a separate destination

A secondary internal drive is supported. An external drive gives better separation from a failure that affects the computer.

2

Let the drive readiness checks finish

Backup O’Clock checks the drive identity and responsiveness before allowing a run.

3

Use Drive Check for warnings

Drive Check shows connection, identity, responsiveness, and recorded Windows hardware-warning history.

4

Handle a changed drive letter

Wait for the registered drive to be identified. Backup O’Clock uses its identity rather than trusting only the letter.

5

Replace a drive intentionally

Use Settings → Maintenance → Replace registered drive only when moving the routine to another physical drive.
